This triptych was conceived as a tribute to artist and mathematics professor Mariano Pietrini, whose research combines scientific rigor and poetic vision. At the center of the work is the phrase:
"Error does not exist in the presence of love."
An equation that becomes an ethical principle and a visual statement. The two lateral canvases depict a kiss between two men and a kiss between two women. The faces, constructed on geometric structures traversed by vertical lines, evoke Cartesian axes and systems of measurement.
But the gesture of the kiss transcends the line, erasing the division and dissolving rigidity. The drips of color interrupt the formal perfection and affirm that identity is not a mathematical formula, but a living experience.
The message is clear and universal: love is never wrong.
Sicilian artist and mathematics and physics professor Lorenzo Maniscalco blends geometric rigor and chromatic intensity, exploring identity, inclusion, and Mediterranean roots.
